TAKE ACTION
So how do news outlets like Vice (and everyday citizens) get scoops like the aforementioned poop problem across NYC public pools?
They use Freedom of Information Acts/Laws — and now NYC City Council is discussing a bill to make our own public record law even better.
Intro 1235 would, among other things, “create a centralized Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request website to receive, track, update, and posts responses to agency FOIL requests.”
Read more about what else the bill would fix from Reinventing Albany and contact your City Councilmember to voice your support.

DEEP DIVE
It’s not just power demand — it turns out the way AI even functions degrades and damages our power grids.
A new report from SemiAnalysis explains how and why AI uniquely fluctuates voltage and current compared to literally everything else we use electricity for, how Texas could end up with another grid failure on par with the recent Iberian blackout, and what Tesla is proposing as a Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) solution to smooth this over.
